Man Kills Parents Over Property Dispute in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu

A 30-year-old man, B Lingasamy, allegedly murdered his aged parents in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu on Monday morning over a property dispute. Lingasamy hit his father and mother with a spade, leaving them dead. Police have launched a hunt for Lingasamy who fled the spot after the incident. The deceased were identified as Bose (61) of Muthukamanpatti near Nilakottai and his wife Pottiammal (58).

According to the police, Bose had recently divided his farm and gave the property to his sons Lingusamy and Venkateswaran (32) who were married and living separately. However, Lingusamy was dissatisfied with the division and often picked up quarrels with his father demanding a larger share. On the morning of the incident, Lingusamy went to his father in an inebriated state and demanded more of the farm's share. As Lingusamy started addressing his father in a disrespectful manner, his brother Venkateswaram attempted to pacify him. But a furious Lingusamy picked up a spade lying there and attacked Bose, the police said.

When Lingusamy's mother Pottiammal came to the rescue of Bose, Lingasamy also attacked her. Both Bose and Pottiammal suffered fatal head injuries and collapsed in a pool of blood. Even as a shocked Venkateswaran rushed to their rescue, Lingasamy managed to escape from the spot. The incident has shocked the local community, and the police have launched a manhunt for the accused.
