Minor Girl Trafficked from Jharkhand Rescued in Jaipur

A minor girl from Gumla district in Jharkhand was rescued from Jaipur on Sunday night. The girl informed the Jaipur police that she had been trafficked by an illegal placement agency called M.K Service in New Delhi.

According to the victim, a woman from the agency made her board a bus bound for Jaipur, instructing her not to interact with anyone during the journey. Upon arrival in Jaipur, the girl was supposed to be received by an unknown person at the Sindhi Camp Bus Stop. However, a fellow passenger who noticed the girl travelling alone grew suspicious and contacted the Delhi-based NGO, Shakti Vahini. The NGO coordinated with the police and Suraksha, an NGO in Jaipur, leading to the rescue of the girl.

Rishi Kant, an activist from Shakti Vahini, expressed concern about the involvement of an organized inter-state trafficking racket. He emphasized the need for investigation by the anti-human trafficking units of the relevant states. An FIR has been filed at the Sindhi Camp police station in Jaipur, and the victim has been placed in a government-run rehabilitation center. The authorities plan to inform the Jharkhand police about the case.
