19-Year-Old Girl Stabbed 35 Times By Neighbours Accused Of Molesting Her
A 19-year-old girl was stabbed 35 times and killed outside her home in Central Delhi’s Anand Parbat area. The accused, two brothers living in her neighborhood, were arrested in connection with the case. The family members of the victim claimed that she had lodged a police complaint against them earlier, but police took no action against them.
Police claimed that no such complaint was registered. According to the police, the victim and the accused had a strained relationship and used to fight over petty issues. On Thursday evening, the victim was waylaid by her neighbors, Jai Prakash alias Sunny and Illu, when she was returning home after buying groceries from the local market. They started verbally abusing her, and when she objected, they stabbed her. She succumbed to her injuries at RML Hospital.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family alleged that despite several people witnessing the attack, no one came forward to help her. The victim’s mother also claimed that she was also stabbed by the accused. The girl had earlier lodged a police complaint stating that she had been molested by the accused and they had threatened to throw acid on her face. However, no case of molestation was registered against them at Anand Parbat or Kamla Market police station, according to DCP Parmaditya.
