Crime Patrol: Mumbai: Decapitated body of youth missing since May found (Episode 721, 722 on 8th, 9th October, 2016)

The Thane crime branch has found the remains of Shabbir Shaikh, who went missing along with Sohail Qureshi in May 2022, from a hillock in the Iltanpada area of Digha village in Navi Mumbai. Shabbir's body was found decapitated, while his head was discovered in a nearby lake. Two individuals arrested in connection with the case have reportedly confessed to the murder of Sohail and are expected to lead the police to the spot where his body was dumped. The gory chain of events came to light after Sohail’s mother Khatun approached police earlier this month complaining that she suspects her son has been murdered.

According to reports, the accused had a dispute with Shabbir and Sohail over money obtained from selling some stolen booty. The accused, along with three others, killed Shabbir and decapitated his body before burying it near a hillock in Digha village and disposing of his head in a nearby lake. They also confessed to having murdered Sohail in April, but further details about his murder are yet to be discovered.

A case of murder and destruction of evidence has been registered against the five accused. The police will continue the investigation and gather evidence related to the crime. The incident took place in the Iltanpada area of Digha village in Navi Mumbai.
