Three Arrested in Connection with Mother's Murder

Crime Branch officials apprehended three individuals, including a woman, for their involvement in the murder of the mother of an angadia firm owner. The woman was allegedly killed by her daughter-in-law's parents, instigated by the daughter-in-law herself. The arrested individuals are identified as 64-year-old Somabhai Patel, 61-year-old Aruna Patel, and 60-year-old Devendra Hetkar, all residents of Krishna Estate Flats.

Kamla, the mother of Narendra alias Raju Patel, residing in Shahi Kutir, Shahibaug, went missing from her home on July 13. Her body was discovered near D Cabin railway level crossing in Kaligam on July 23. The joint operation between the Crime Branch and Shahibaug police led to the arrest of the culprits. The investigation revealed that Dipali, Kamla's daughter-in-law, allegedly orchestrated the murder due to financial disputes and harassment.

Dipali convinced her parents, Aruna Patel and Devendra Hetkar, that Kamla possessed substantial wealth but refused to provide financial support. Believing Dipali's claims, they conspired to kill Kamla. As part of their plan, Dipali brought Kamla to Elite Flats in Shahibaug, where her parents took control of the situation. They then transported Kamla to their residence in an Alto car. Somabhai and Hetkar subsequently gagged and suffocated her to death. The swift action of the police led to the apprehension of the suspects.
