Crime Patrol: Murder accused under trial shot dead in a hospital in Indore (Ep 58 on 2 Oct 2019 - Crime Patrol Satark Season 2)

Ram Dayal, a 25-year-old murder accused under trial, was admitted to MY Hospital in Indore for treatment for a brain tumour. However, early one Monday morning, a masked assassin dressed as a doctor shot him at point-blank range on the head, killing him instantly. The killer managed to flee the scene, and the incident was only reported two hours later, despite a police outpost being present in the hospital premises. The police are investigating the case and are scanning CCTV grabs from the hospital and talking to other patients admitted to the same ward.

The hospital killing has exposed the state of security at the biggest government hospital in Madhya Pradesh. A 32-year-old history-sheeter named Chintu Thakur, who had a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head for hiring a shooter to kill an undertrial prisoner in the same hospital, recently surrendered before the police. Chintu had allegedly hatched the conspiracy to eliminate Jitendra alias 'JD' to avenge the killing of his brother Pintu in 2013. However, the shooter, Ritesh, shot Ramdayal instead, mistaking him for JD. The shooting had sent shock-waves and highlighted the lapses in security at the hospital.
